In Andhra Pradesh, all the cabinet ministers resigned on the same day yesterday. It is being talked about all over India.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajasekar Reddy, is known for his actionable results. After the death of his father, he started the YSR Congress party and gained opposition status in the 2014 assembly elections. Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Party won 67 of the 175 seats in Andhra Pradesh.
However, the party won a landslide victory in the 2019 assembly elections, winning 151 seats.
Half-time Ministers
When Jagan Mohan Reddy won the election and became the Chief Minister, he made several announcements. One of them was the announcement that the cabinet would last for only two and a half years. Accordingly, it was announced that a cabinet would be formed in the first half of the regime and a cabinet with other members in the second half.
Following this, 24 ministers who were in the cabinet for the first half, yesterday, have resigned from their posts. It has been reported that the new cabinet may be formed on April 11th. Roja, an MLA from Nagari constituency and an actress, is expected to be among the newcomers, including Bhaskar Reddy, a Chandragiri constituency MLA.
Speaking on the occasion, outgoing minister for information and public relations Perni Venkatramaiah said, "The resignation letters of all the 24 ministers have been sent to the Governor immediately. It is likely that 5 or 6 ministers who have served well in the last three years will be retained into the cabinet. 23 will be appointed newly."
