DRI officials have received information that drugs have arrived at the Delhi airport. A cargo plane has arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from Dubai. Authorities have seized 126 Trolley bags from the plane, according to information available to them. A total of 54 kg of narcotics were seized from those bags.
The total value of these is 434 crore rupees. According to DRI officials, this is the highest value of narcotics seized by airports so far. Also, it has been revealed that these trolley bags were used to smuggle drugs through tug-of-war. Authorities have also arrested a man in connection with the incident.
The man was identified as arriving at the Delhi airport from Uganda via Dubai. To go with this, the authorities are still searching for some more people in connection with this kidnapping. In addition, police have seized about 7 kg of narcotics in Punjab and Haryana following reports of drug trafficking.
About 3,300 kg of drugs have been smuggled in by air so far this year, officials said. Not only that, in the last 3 months alone, 60 kg of narcotics have been seized by passenger planes.
