Veeramalla Ramalakshmaiah is a native of Nalkonda in the state of Telangana. The 56-year-old has been suffering from chronic abdominal pain for the past 6 months. Veeramalla Ramalakshmaiah, who was suffering from this, visited a nearby doctor. Having told him his problem, he has been using the pills given by that doctor. Yet the abdominal pain did not subside. This has created a situation where he was unable to do even his daily chores. Following this, Ramalakshmaiah went to Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital in Hyderabad.
Scan
Preliminary tests have been done on Ramalakshmaiah there. A CT scan and an ultrasound scan were taken when doctors suspected he might have kidney stones. The doctors who saw those scan reports froze in shock. The report said that his kidney had a lot of stones in it.
Dr Poola Naveen Kumar, a senior consultant and nephrologist at the hospital, said, "Certain initial investigations and ultrasound scan revealed presence of multiple left renal caliculi (kidney stones on the left side), and the same was reconfirmed with CT Kub scan.”
Surgery
Doctors have advised the patient to undergo surgery immediately. Following this, doctors removed 206 stones from his kidney as a result of a one hour operation.
Dr Naveen Kumar said he was discharged the next day after the surgery was successfully completed. Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Kumar advised, "With extremely high temperatures in the summer days, many people suffer from dehydration, which could result in the formation of stones in the kidneys. Consume more water, and coconut water (if possible), to stay hydrated."
