India ranks slightly better than Syria on religious hostilities

According to a study by Pew Research Centre on social hostilities involving religion, India was ranked fourth in the world in 2015 after Syria, Nigeria and Iraq. The research suggests that India’s ranking worsened sharply since 2014, but was better than in previous years. “The global rise in social hostilities reflected a number of factors... and incidents where violence was used to enforce religious norms”, said Pew.
