According to reports, India is currently in the process of introducing a new scheme aimed to turn all of the vehicles to battery power by 2030. The plan is said to include limited tax breaks for electric car manufacturers and also the sale of vehicles without batteries to improve affordability. Notably, only 1% of the 200 million vehicles on Indian roads are electric.
