According to reports, a 23-year-old youth was arrested after he confessed that he strangulated his mother and burnt her body using kerosene on December 25 in Ambalamukku of Thiruvananthapuram. The charred body of the woman, Deepa, was found in the backyard the next day, say reports. The youth, Akshay, allegedly killed his 50-year-old mother in a fit of anger after she refused to give him money. Police reportedly said he visited police station on December 26 and complained that his mother was missing. However, he later confessed to his crime, police reportedly added.
