A 24-year-old youth from Agra committed suicide by hanging himself as he was not able to get into Indian Army despite his repeated attempts since he was 17. Munna Kumar, a BSc graduate, hanged himself on live video through Facebook on Wednesday.
Though over 2750 people watched the video, no one bothered to call the police or inform his family, suggest reports. The youth was depressed over exceeding the age limit.
His younger brother said that Munna was inspired by Bhagat Singh and wanted to join the Indian Army. He was normal when he had dinner and showed no signs that he was going to commit suicide, Munna’s brother added.
He reportedly left a two-page note in which he detailed his struggle and apologised to his parents. Police sent his body for post-mortem.
