Two months ago, a 21-year-old youth died in a road accident in Mumbai due to pothole, reports Times Of India. The local police has now booked the deceased for rash driving.
Police investigation has revealed that the deceased was driving fast due to which he hit the pothole and died. They have booked him for negligent and rash driving.
Social activists are furious and are demanding action against those responsible for the potholes and to withdraw the FIR.
The deceased, Piyush Mishra, has gone to celebrate his birthday with his friends, and died while coming back from the party.
“In Bhiwandi, several people have lost their lives due to potholes. Instead of filing an FIR against the officials whose failure in filling the potholes has caused the deaths, the police are now making a deceased an accused,” said a social activist.
