A video of a woman from Kerala's Ernakulam capturing a 20kg python alive has surfaced on social media.
In the video, Vidya Raju, wife of a senior Navy Officer, can be seen holding the python from its neck while another man holds its tail before putting it inside a bag. She even constantly refers to the snake as "bachcha".
The Python was spotted in what appears to a backyard. Three men including a Navy officer and a girl accompanied Vidya during the rescue operation.
The 1 minute 36 seconds clip was shared online by Harinder Sikka with the caption "20kg python caught alive by wife of senior Navy officer. Leave aside women, wonder how many men can show such guts. I love my Navy."
The video has garnered over 44,000 views already. "Ma'am has correctly exhibited the technique of capturing it & bagging it," commented one Twitter user. "She is gentle and even addressed it as a bachcha," wrote another.
