20-YEAR-OLD WOMAN BURNT WITH HEATED METAL OBJECTS, TORTURED AND KILLED BY GANG! - REPORT

A 20-year-old woman died after being tortured by six people in Visakhapatnam. The police revealed that all the six accused have been arrested.

The woman was employed by one of the six accused for being a sex worker. The woman hailed from East Godavari District and had been residing at Vizag for more than a year. The police revealed that the prime accused Vasantha and the deceased had gotten into an argument after the latter questioned the former over unfair wages. “The victim threatened to leave, saying she was unhappy with being paid too little. She was then confined and tortured by Vasantha and the accomplices,” police said.

“They had shaved her eyebrows and tonsured her hair to stop her from leaving,” the police added. The deceased was also subjected to being burnt with a heating metal object. The police retrieved the victim’s body before cremation. The Hindu reported that the body has been taken to King George Hospital for an autopsy.

The six involved, apart from Vasantha, were her sister Manju, mother Dhanalakshmi, her associate Sanjay, Kumari alias Geeta, who was involved in sex work as well as trafficking, and Kantaveni, who was the deceased’s aunt.
