An eatery owner was shot dead on Sunday in West Bengal’s 24 Parganas district for selling biryani at a price of Rs 190 per plate, say reports. The owner Sanjay Mondal demanded Rs 190 per plate from four customers and an argument broke out. One of the customers shot Mondal after a fight broke out.
The eatery owner was declared dead at the hospital. Police have reportedly arrested one of the accused named Mohammad Firoz, while others are on the run. Police said that the cause of the murder prima facie appears to be over the price of the biryani. However, they added that they are investigating to ascertain if there is any other motive behind the murder.
Mondal’s brother identified the ‘hooligans’ to be Raja, Firoz, Mogri and Salman. He said that the family was living in terror of Firoz, who allegedly shot the eatery owner.
