DISTURBING VIDEO: ELEPHANT BADLY INJURED AFTER GETTING HIT BY SPEEDING TRAIN, GETS DRAGGED FOR 30 METERS

In a sad and unfortunate incident, an elephant got badly injured in Nagrakata near Dharnipur tea estate near Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal.
The tragic incident took place at 7:45 am when a speeding train hit the animal while it was moving towards Dhubri from Siliguri. The train was moving towards Banarhata after crossing Nagrakata station.
According to DNA reports, the engine of the train also suffered damage. After which, the movement of trains towards Dooars came to a halt.
After the train entered the tea estate, it hit the elephant and dragged it for 30 meters before it got under the engine and then came to a halt. The train driver applied brakes, but the train failed to stop, DNA further reported.
In the video and pictures that is currently going viral, the elephant hurt himself on hip and one of the hind legs.
Some of the passengers who were travelling in the train also suffered injuries.
