An Uttar Pradesh Journalist was shot by unidentified men in Delhi’s Ghaziabad on Monday night few days after he filed a police complaint over harassment of his niece. 

The journalist has been identified as Vikram Joshi. He was travelling with his daughters on Monday when he was attacked by a group of men. The group of men sprayed bullets at him in Vijay Nagar area where the incident occurred. One of the bullets reportedly hit his head. He was immediately rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad. The doctors stated that his condition was critical. 

Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday told the media that five people have been arrested in connection with the attack.

The journalist’s family members allege that the attack is related to the recent complaint he had filed. Vikram Joshi’s brother Aniket Joshi told ANI that while a case has been filed, no arrests have been made. According to him, the boys who attacked him are the ones who misbehaved with the journalist’s niece.

The investigation on this case is ongoing.
