A huge debate erupted on Twitter after one Abhishek Mishra, claiming to be linked to Vishwa Hindu Parishad, posted on the social media platform that he cancelled his booking via Ola Cabs as the driver was a Muslim. Mishra has union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan and Mahesh Sharma among his followers. He posted on April 20, after cancelling the cab, that he did not want to give money to “jihadi people”. To this, Ola had a befitting response: “Ola, like our country, is a secular platform, and we don't discriminate our driver partners or customers basis their caste, religion, gender or creed. We urge all our customers and driver partners to treat each other with respect at all times.”
