Vehicle insurance can’t be renewed without PUC certificate: SC

Hearing a PIL filed by an environmentalist in 1985, the Supreme Court ruled, if the owner does not have a PUC certificate (Pollution Under Control), vehicle insurance renewal will not be allowed. The court has also directed the Centre to make sure that all petrol pumps in Delhi-NCR have PUC centres within four weeks.
