According to reports, a statue of India’s lawmaker Dr BR Ambedkar in Meerut’s Mawana was vandalised on Tuesday by unidentified persons. Meanwhile, members of the Dalit community held protests and staged a roadblock in the area following the incident. However, the agitation was called off after the district administration promised that a new statue of the icon would be installed, reports added.
