LIGHTNING KILLS 107 PEOPLE FROM BIHAR AND UTTAR PRADESH IN A DAY - DETAILS
Home > News Shots > India107 people have died on Thursday after lightning struck 31 districts in 2 states. In both Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, warnings from the meteorologists were given and people were expected to stay indoors amid thunderstorms.
In UP bolts of lightning killed 9 in Deoria, 6 in Prayagraj, 3 in Ambedkarnagar and 2 in Barabanki. However in Bihar, a total of 23 districts have reported fatalities. Gopalganj reported 13 deaths, Madhubani reported 8. Siwan and Bhagalpur reported 6 deaths while Champaran, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur and Banka reported 5 each.
Both Nitish Kumar and Yogi Adityanath, Chief Ministers of Bihar and UP have announced Rs.4 lakh for each of the families of those killed. However they warned people to stay indoors as the red warning continues for another two days. “Follow all advisories and stay indoors and safe during bad weather,” said Kumar.
