Home > News Shots > IndiaThe International flight services will resume in a phased manner during 'Unlock 2.0', a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Monday.
India suspended all domestic and international flight services in March in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. After two months, domestic flight services have resumed in limited routes.
The Director General of Civil Aviation earlier announced that commercial International flights to and from India will continue to remain suspended till July 15.
"Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India shall remain suspended till 23:59 hours IST of 15th July,2020... However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case to case basis," the DGCA had said.
The Central government on May 6 initiated Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) to bring back Indians stranded in various foreign countries. In the first three phases of the VBM, nearly 1,25,000 Indians have been brought back, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said.
