Two techies working with a software company in Bengaluru died after they fell into a waterfall in Karnataka while clicking a selfie, say reports. Shamir Rahman and Bhavani Shankar, both in their late 20s, met the fate at Mekedatu waterfalls in Kanakapura district.
When Rahman slipped while taking a selfie, Shankar leapt in and attempted to save him. However, both of them were washed away, police said. The water flow was intense after excess water was released from Krishna Raja Sagar dam in the state.
Reports suggest that the duo ignored repeated warnings from authorities not to take selfies near water bodies.
