CASE OF RAPE & CONFINEMENT OF WOMEN: 4 ASHRAM PRIESTS BOOKED, 2 ARRESTED! - POLICE PROBE REVEAL MORE DETAILS!

In a shocking case, the police arrested a head priest of an ashram, along with another priest, of the Ram Tirath Temple in Amritsar, Punjab for allegedly raping two women kept in illegal confinement. 

This incident came to light after Punjab SC Commission member Tarsem Singh Sailka lodged a police complaint in this matter and raided the ashram. The priest have been identified as Girdari Nath and Varinder Nath while the women have been rescued. 

As per The Tribune report, the priests had kept the two women in illegal captivity inside the temple premises. Both the women are residents of Ghaniyet Ke Bangar in Batala. 

SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal sent a police team, who nabbed the priests and rescued the two women. The victims managed to inform their family members after stealing the mobile phones of one of the accused, the Tribune further reported. 

The police have registered a case of rape and illegal detention against four priests. Meanwhile, the police have also booked Nachhatar Nath and Suraj Nath in this matter, who are currently absconding.
