Following the UGC directive to drop the word ‘University’ in names of deemed varsities, two prominent educational institutions including Christ University and Jain University have reportedly dropped the word ‘University’ and submitted new names, which were due on Thursday. Reports say, UGC warned seven universities including Christ University, Jain University, Lingaya’s University, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Yenepoya University, SYMBIOSIS International University, and Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya.
