According to reports, three students of the Jawahar Navodaya residential school in Thandla of Madhya Pradesh were slapped 168 times for a week. A science teacher at the school allegedly forced the class VI students to slap the three girls in a bid to bypass the laws against corporal punishment. The school authorities condoned the atrocity calling it a ‘friendly punishment.’ While the parents of one of the girls has filed a complaint, police are in a dilemma and yet to file a case.
