Three newborns at the Bhim Rao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, died on Sunday allegedly due to a drop in oxygen pressure, say reports. Claiming the infants did not die because of a shortage of oxygen, officials alleged that the operator was drunk and did not release the gas in the emergency and nursing wards, reports added. CM Raman Singh on Monday reportedly ordered an investigation into the death of the newborns. Earlier, more than 60 children died in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur hospital due to an alleged shortage of oxygen.
