To have the norms of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) followed in temple prasadams across India, the temples that are administered by Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE) will reportedly have expiry date printed on the containers. The panchamirtham which is sold in Palani Dhandayuthapani Swamy temple will be the first temple to sell prasadam with expiry date in its container.
