Telangana is India's most recent and youngest state and is currently gearing up to form its next government. The State is witnessing its first-ever Assembly elections after it was formed.
Days after Telangana citizens cast their votes on December 7, 2018, the vote count finally commenced on Tuesday. The race is between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party and the People's Front led by the Congress, consisting of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India (CPI). The BJP is contesting the elections on its own.
TRS is currently leading the polls in 86 seats out of the total 119 seats. People's Front holds 22 seats and BJP holds 5 seats. It seems that TRS is all set to come into power for the second time in a row. With high hopes that TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will hold the office again, celebrations break out.
