VIDEO: HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE STRANDED AT TELANGANA-ANDHRA BORDER AMID LOCKDOWN
Home > News Shots > IndiaA day after 21-day nationwide lockdown, hundreds of people lined up outside police stations across Hyderabad. Most of them among the crowd were students, who were desperate to return to their hometowns amid all chaos in the country. Breaking all rules of social distancing, people were seen standing in long lines outside a police station in Telangana's Kukatpally area.
According to a NDTV report, there were also similar chaos at the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border after vehicles were stranded for hours by Andhra police to enter.
Many people shared videos of the chaos; a man named Ashok, took to social media and posted videos from the spot and said, "many are students trying to get home. They have been waiting here since morning but have not been allowed to enter Andhra Pradesh."
"For days, we haven't had much option because of hostels being shut down and food becoming a challenge. Cooks are not coming in," another man told NDTV.
Meanwhile, the police in Andhra Pradesh state that they had no prior information about Telangana's decision. The Andhra Pradesh government later said that only those persons with a ''clean certificate'' for valid medical reasons are being permitted to enter into the state.
