According to reports, a 19-year-old girl in Rajasthan used the congratulatory messages on her husband’s Facebook page to prove in court that she was married at 12. An activist named Kriti Bharti, who helped the girl Sushila Bishnoi, reportedly said many of the friends of the husband, who was also 12 at the time of marriage, posted congratulatory messages on his Facebook page for the wedding in 2010. The girl wanted to study while the parents forced her to consummate the marriage, say reports. “The girl is in a government shelter and is continuing studies in an open school”, the activist reportedly said.
