BJP MLA Sangeet Som while addressing a gathering in Meerut reportedly said that Shah Jahan was a traitor as he wanted to wipe out Hindus and he built Taj Mahal. He said that Taj Mahal should not be considered as India's history. According to media reports, he said that BJP is trying to wipe out names of famous Mughal leaders like Akbar, Aurangzeb, Babur. Even in the recent tourism booklet released by the Uttar Pradesh government, Taj Mahal was not included in the list.
