THREE-YEAR-OLD DROWNS TO DEATH AS PARENTS TAKE SELFIE

A three-year-old girl drowned in a lake in Althan Garden, Surat on Friday while her parents were busy taking selfies. It was only after her body was recovered from the lake on Saturday her parents knew she had drowned.

The couple reportedly thought that she was abducted and were ignorant of the fact that she had drowned. She was found on Saturday morning after a search was initiated on finding her shoe in the water.

The body was sent for post-mortem, where it was confirmed that she died of drowning. A case of accidental death has been filed in the local police station.

The parents had come to the garden with their two children and stepped away for some time. It was at that time when the girl went near the lake and drowned. The girl's parents informed the police that they were taking selfies and thought that the children were playing.
