BREAKING: SUPREME COURT PRONOUNCES 'MUCH AWAITED ORDER' IN SUSHANT SINGH DEATH CASE!
Home > News Shots > IndiaTwo months post the untimely demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, his fans and family who had been seeking for a CBI probe into his mysterious death, were anticipating the Supreme Court’s verdict.
Following several online campaigns among others, the Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 19, granted CBI probe. The Supreme Court has also ordered the Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidences collected with regards to the case, into the hands of CBI. “Bihar government had the right to refer the Patna FIR lodged by Rajput’s father to CBI,” SC said. “CBI will be competent to probe not only Patna FIR but any other FIR related to Rajput’s death case.”
Previously, the Maharashtra police filed an affidavit where it claimed that the Bihar police cannot intervene given the jurisdiction which was restricted to the state of Maharashtra. However, SC has now made it clear that the case will be solely probed into by the CBI only and that no state police have any authority to interfere with the case. “The jurisdiction of the Mumbai Police conducting an investigation under Section 174 CrPC is limited,” the court said.
