SUPREME COURT ORDER ON SC/ST ACT: THREE BJP-RULING STATES TO SEEK REVIEW

According to a report by TNIE, three BJP-ruling states - Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan - will file a review petition in the Supreme Court on its order laying down guidelines on the arrest of persons involved in atrocities against Dalits. Members of Dalit community have been protesting against the top court’s directive saying that it diluted the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
