WiFi Dabba, a Bangalore based start-up that works with wireless Internet networking, offers ‘sachets’ of wireless data connection at prices as low as Rs.2 for 100 MB. Shubhendu Sharma, co-founder of Wifi Dabba explains how it works - The "Dabbas" are hotspots that are distributed to small shops. The ‘Dabbas’ broadcast a Wi-Fi signal, and you can buy a token at any of the shops. You connect to the open SSID, and then punch in your phone number. Then you enter the eight digit code on the token and you're online. This service is currently available in Bangalore.
