The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reportedly taken into custody Mangalore-based Praveen alias Suchith Kumar, the second accused in the Gauri Lankesh murder case. Naveen Kumar was arrested first under the Arms Act on March 3. The accused later confessed to his crimes.
It was through Naveen Kumar's confessions that Praveen was caught. Allegedly, Naveen did not know much about Praveen as he was with him only for a few days. One of the SIT officials reportedly said, "As of now, we are sure Praveen knows much about those behind the murder than Naveen. We are trying to know on whose behest the murder was executed."
55-year-old Gauri Lankesh, the editor of Lankesh Patrike was shot dead outside her house in Bangalore on September 5 last year.
