GOOD NEWS: THIS COVID19 VACCINE LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE IN INDIA FROM DECEMBER 2020! PRICE AND OTHER DETAILS LISTED

While different vaccine candidates are on various stages of trials, latest media reports suggest that an inactivated vaccine developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products might be commercially available in India by the end of December 2020. According to the head of the state- owned Chinese company Sinopharm, the Chinese vaccine candidate is in its Phase III of human trials. 

Liu Jinhzhen, who is the chairman of the company stated to the media that the vaccine candidate is likely to be priced at 1,000 yuan which equates to around 10,794.94 Indian Rupees.

According to a report published in TASS, a Russian news agency, Liu Jingzhen stated,“If you do one shot, the probability of protection is about 97 per cent, antibodies are developing slowly. Usually, about half a month is needed to reach the level sufficient to counter COVID-19. If you do two shots, the probability of protection may reach 100 per cent.”

“The vaccine candidate is developed by the researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products and it is an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine. Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinopharm CNBG is already conducting Phase III of human trials after it triggered a strong antibody response in its Phase I/II of clinical trials,” Times of India reported.
