A joint study by ASSOCHAM and EY has reportedly stated that India is home to the largest number of malnourished children in the world with “about 50 per cent of undernourished children of the world”. It also reportedly said 40% of the Indian children were undernourished towards the end of 2015. According to the study, about 37% of under-five children are underweight, 39% are stunted (low height-for-age), 21% are wasted (low weight-for-height) and 8% are severely acutely malnourished, reports say.
