According to reports, a journalist of Syandan Patrika, a leading Bengali newspaper of Agartala, was shot dead on Tuesday, by a constable of the Tripura State Rifles. The Tripura-based Journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik had gone to interview an officer when an argument broke out between the two, the daily claimed. The journalist reportedly died on the spot after being shot. Police have arrested the constable, reports added.
