Shiv Sena, at a meeting of the party's national executive on Tuesday, decided not to ally with BJP, the ruling party at the Centre, for the general elections and Maharashtra assembly elections in 2019. Party senior leader Sanjay Raut also accused the BJP of “demoralising the Sena and using power to do so” in the last three years. Notably, Shiv Sena and BJP have been allies since 1989.
