SENIOR IPS OFFICER HIMANSHU ROY COMMITS SUICIDE

Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Himanshu Roy shot himself on his head and committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai on Friday afternoon. The Additional Director General of Police was reportedly on sick leave when he committed suicide. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

According to reports, Roy was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had been on leave since November 2017. His illness caused him severe depression.

Himanshu Roy was heading high profile cases like the IPL spot-fixing scandal and was also part of the investigation of the 7/11 Mumbai train attack.
