The National Green Tribunal reportedly directed the Delhi government to shut schools if the air quality touches the emergency levels (beyond 900 micrograms per cubic meter). Report says, the directive comes after considering the health of children to save them from inhaling pollutants. However, the decision was criticized stating it would be difficult to complete the school syllabus as exams will have to be postponed.
