"EITHER WE WILL SHUT DOWN THE TAJ MAHAL OR...": SC SLAMS CENTRE

The Supreme Court on Wednesday slammed the Centre stating that the protection of the Taj Mahal is a 'hopeless cause'. It criticised the Uttar Pradesh government for its lethargy and reportedly said, " Either we will shut down the Taj or you demolish or restore it."
The SC was hearing a petition for the proper maintenance of the country's best tourist spot. One of the judges noted that the Taj is more beautiful than the Eiffel Tower. The judge reportedly said, "Eighty million go to watch Eiffel Tower which looks like a TV Tower. Our Taj is more beautiful. If you had looked after it your foreign exchange problem would have been solved."
The panel of judges announced that the case will be heard on a daily basis starting from July 31.
