The Supreme Court has reportedly told the Centre that no one must be denied social security entitlements and benefits just because they do not possess an Aadhaar card. Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal spoke on behalf of petitioners who claimed that people who do not possess Aadhaar are being denied social security benefits. A five-member Constitution bench then stated that the benefits must be given to people on the basis of other forms of identification, not just Aadhaar.
