In a chilling incident, a partially decomposed body of a 4-year-old boy, who was allegedly abducted 18 months ago, was found inside a wooden box on Sunday on the rooftop of a room next to where he lived in Sahibabad’s Shamshad Garden locality, Ghaziabad.
Mohammad Zaid was kidnapped on December 1, 2016 while he was playing outside his house. He was wearing his school uniform at the time. The body of the boy in the box was also spotted with the same uniform.
The body was first spotted by Zaid’s elder brother, Junaid, who had gone to fetch a ball from the rooftop. The forensic experts are checking the body and an investigation is underway.
“For these 18 months, I kept assuring myself that my son is alive. He was found on Sunday — but dead. The body has signs of decomposition but we never got any foul smell. Sometimes, we go and sit on our rooftop, which is right next to our neighbour’s, but we never noticed anything suspicious,” the boy’s father Nazar Mohammad said.
