An elephant that killed 15 people in Bihar and Jharkhand together was reportedly shot dead on Friday by India’s top hunter Nawab Shafat Ali Khan in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand. The decision to kill the animal was taken after week-long efforts to tranquilise it failed, Jharkhand's chief forest and wildlife conservator LR Singh reportedly said. According to reports, the hunt saw the participation of about 100 people including forest officials and villagers.
