Actor Rhea Chakraborty has been taken to Mumbai’s Byculla Jail this morning. This development comes a day after she was arrested on drug charges related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. She was sent to jail for a period of 14 days. The decision was passed by the magistrate during a video hearing where Rhea’s bail was rejected.
She is likely to request for a sessions court bail today. She spent the night at the Narcotics Control Bureau Office last night.
The Byculla jail is the only prison that has holdings for female inmates in Mumbai. High- profile inmates such as Indrani Mukerjea who was accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, are in the jail.
“Rhea Chakraborty has been charged with organizing drugs for her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, a Bollywood star whose shock death on June 14 is being investigated by the CBI. There is no mention in the court papers of her using drugs. She faces charges that could lead to up to 10 years in jail,” NDTV reported.
Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s employees Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant are also allegedly involved.
