RBI to issue new Rs 50 notes soon

The Reserve Bank of India, in a notification on Friday, reportedly said it will shortly issue bank notes of denomination Rs 50 in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. Reports say there will be some changes in design and pattern of the notes. “All the banknotes in the denomination of Rs 50 issued by the Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender,” the central bank also reportedly added.
