In order to make space for food plates for passengers, the Indian Railways has decided to remove one toilet each from close to 40,000 train coaches to set up a catering station, says a report by News18. Under its ‘Mission Retro-Fitment’, started on June 13, the Railways seeks to modernize old-style train coaches over the next five years. The move will reduce the number of toilets in each coach from four to three.
