In an inhuman and shocking case, an elderly rickshaw-puller was thrashed by policemen in Punjab's Jalandhar city. This incident took place at the city's railway station.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, wherein Punjab police can be seen arguing and thrashing the elderly rickshaw-puller.
According to the New Indian Express report, his only fault was that he reached the platform on the rickshaw to drop a passenger, who was physically challenged.
This video made headlines after Akali Dal leader Manjinder S Sirsa posted it on his official handle and quoted saying "Often police harasses the poor & helpless! Look how mercilessly @PunjabPoliceInd beat this Old Rickshaw puller at Jalandhar railway station who came there to drop a handicapped person."
"I demand strict action against the cops who kept their humanity aside & misused their position," he further added.
