GROUP CONDUCTS FUNERAL FOR HELMET AS IT CAUSES HAIR LOSS

As much as wearing a helmet is very important, many a times we go ahead driving without it. There are many reasons as to why one would avoid wearing a helmet despite the fact that it could possibly save our lives.

A helmet is very uncomfortable to wear. It causes hair loss and neck pain. Sometimes we are just lazy and a helmet is too much of a hassle to wear. Keeping all these trivial reasons in mind, a group from Pune - Helmet Sakti Virodhi Kruti Samiti took a jab at the compulsory helmet law.

The 'intellectuals' from the group conducted a funeral for a helmet. The event was led by Shiv Sena leader Mahadev Babai. It was a response to the police for making helmets compulsory. The Anti-Helmet Compulsion Action Committee also held a rally to protest against helmets.

Reportedly, even Pune MP Anil Shirole supported the group and stated, "Public safety should always be the top priority but at the same time, the police should consider local public sentiments and needs. People always ride slowly on local roads so there are fewer chances of accidents. Hence, there is no need of helmet compulsion on these roads.”

Members of the group during the funeral offered vada pav and a bottle of liquor to to the helmet while praying. Balasaheb Runwal, the founder of the group said, "There are a lot of riders who have faced back or neck pain after using the helmet which clearly shows that the use of helmets is not at all comfortable."

Hair is not more important than our lives. It is always better to be precautionary and avoid serious injuries if one gets into an accident. Wear helmets!
