Protests against the film ‘Padmaavat’ turned violent in several states including Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra as members of fringe outfits like the Rajput Karni Sena engaged in blocking roads, pelting stones and setting vehicles on fire. According to reports, at least 200 vehicles have been damaged in Ahmedabad amongst other acts of violence, leading to the arrest of 48 people. Protestors also blocked National Highway 3 and Delhi-Jaipur highway.
