‘Pilotless train’: Loco pilot chases train, saves lives of people

An electric train which ran up to 13 km without a pilot from Wadi station in Kalaburagi was taken control by a loco pilot who chased the train at 30 kmph on a bike. The loco pilot caught up with the train and when it slowed down, got on it and stopped the engine. An inquiry has been ordered to find out how the engine was started. Though there were no passengers in that train, loco pilot saved lives of people travelling in other trains in the opposite direction.
